To trace the origin of the olive and its oil means receeding six millenniums before our time situating us next to the Mediterranean sea shore. Egypcians, Hittites, Phoenicians, Syrians and Cretians knew the olive. The olive oil reached its maximum purity in the 8th Century at the hands of the Arabs.

In the 1960´s, olive oil survived the strong competition imposed by the seeded oils. Now, at last, it lives a rebirth. The international recognition of the Mediterranean diet has opened the doors of worldwide cuisines, conquering supporters in places and cultures where it was once unknown.
